Chip and Run

This is a shot you will use regularly at this time of year with the tight, dry lies. You will have much more control around the greens using a chip and run shot. The choice of club is up to you and what you are comfortable with. Personally I use a 9 iron but you may be more comfortable with an 8 or a 7 iron.

(Pic 1) The ball is well back in my stance which will get the ball running lower. My weight and hands are forward.

(Pic 2) When taking the club back I keep the line between my arms and club in a Y shape with no leg movement holding my weight on the left side.

(Pic 3) When striking the ball I keep the Y shape in tact, my weight and hands staying forward and looking to balance a glass on my clubface!

<i>Now you really will have fun lowering your scores!
